Ved Institute - Upcoming Performance

April 9, 2013

Ved Institute of Performing Arts will present a dance show on 14th April'13, the day earmarked for celebrating the Annual Day of their Western Suburb branch. Aditi Yadav, under whose guidance the young shishyas learn kathak, is an exponent of this dance form from the 'Benaras Gharana'. Kathak had acquired dubious reputation as it became associated with the courtesans patronized by the Nawabs and other gentry, had lost its sacred tone and the exponents from Benaras took the onus of restoring its lost spirituality. Upholding this tradition the learners of Ved Institute will begin by performing a Ganesh Vandana invoking the blessings of Vighnaharta. This will be followed by seeking the blessings of the Patron goddess of All Art forms and Learning - Saraswati. The young dancers will perform more popular Bollywood form of Kathak on the famous song 'Woh Kisna Hai.' The young dancers - Sanghmitra Mukherjee, Neha Saraf, Kanupriya Seth and Shraddha Varma will show their dancing skills in this show.

The institute has been running from the premises of Playschool -Starlets and this is where you can contact Aditi Yadav if you are keen to learn.
