Vasant panchami is significant for worshiping SARASWATI, the goddess of wisdom and knowledge.  It is believed to be the birth anniversary of goddess Saraswati hence this day is also called  saraswati Jayanti.  

 

Young children are introduced to the world of learning and formal education on this day. Yellow is considered as saraswatiji favorite color everyone wears yellow on this day and performs a small puja.

 

Here in Ved Institute of Performing Arts we perform the ritual of ghungroo puja during the entire week of Vasant panchami. Students are taught saraswati Vandana. New students receive their ghungroo on the auspicious day of Vasant panchami
